What topics or questions might Cardiogram ask me?
Cardiogram occasionally shows in-app questions or insights to help us learn more about your health and improve the app. These questions are completely optional, and answering them helps us contribute to research and build better, more personalized features.
❓ Why are we asking questions?
Every question we ask includes a short explanation of why we’re asking. For example:
“Have you ever been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes?”
This helps us improve our algorithms and contribute to ongoing medical research.
You can always dismiss any question by tapping the “X” in the top right corner of the card.
Important: These questions are shown to all users. Seeing a question does not mean we think there’s something wrong with your heart data.
If you’re ever concerned about your heart rate or symptoms, we recommend speaking with your doctor.

Tracking the Effects of the Flu
We’re exploring how heart rate changes when users experience illnesses like the flu. Learn more:

Health Conditions
We may ask if you’ve been diagnosed with conditions such as:
- Type 2 Diabetes
- Sleep Apnea
- Hypertension
- Hyperlipidemia
These questions help us see if heart rate patterns correlate with these conditions. Answering is voluntary and shown to all users — it does not mean we believe you have the condition.
Previous Diagnoses
We ask about your past diagnoses to personalize your Cardiogram experience and surface more meaningful insights over time.
🧠 What are Insight Cards?
You may also see Insight Cards at the top of your Timeline. These include:
- Q&A-style questions
- Symptom-based insights (e.g. fatigue and heart rate)
- Journal-based reflections
These cards are designed to help you better understand your data. On the final page of most Insights, you’ll be asked whether you found it helpful.
- Tap “More like this” if you did
- Tap “Fewer like this” if it wasn’t helpful
- You can also leave detailed feedback via Submit Feedback in the menu
To open the menu, tap the three lines in the upper-left corner of the Timeline screen.
