What devices does Cardiogram work with?
Cardiogram works with many popular smartwatches and phones, but compatibility depends on the device’s operating system, RAM, and optical heart rate sensor support.
📱 Supported phones
- iPhones (iOS 15 or later recommended)
- Android phones with access to the Google Play Store
❌ Phones without Google Play Services (e.g. some Huawei models) are not supported
⌚ Supported wearables
✅ Apple Watch
- All models supported
- Requires watchOS 6 or newer
- ECG importing supported with Series 4 or later and iOS 17+
✅ Wear OS & Samsung Galaxy Watch
- Must run Wear OS 3 or newer
- Requires at least 1GB RAM
- Must have an optical heart rate sensor
- The Cardiogram companion app must be installed and running on the watch
Fully supported models include Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and newer
✅ Fitbit (including Google Pixel Watch)
- Any model with an optical heart rate sensor
- Includes Sense, Versa, Charge, and Pixel Watch
✅ Garmin
- Supported if the model includes an optical heart rate sensor
- Examples: Fenix 5 series, Forerunner, Vivoactive, Venu
🏃♂️ Workout importing supported from:
- Apple Watch (via Apple Health)
- Wear OS watches (via Google Fit)
- Fitbit devices (via Fitbit app)
📥 ECG importing (iOS only)
- Requires iOS 17+ and Apple Watch Series 4+
- ECG must be recorded and saved in Apple Health
❌ Devices not supported
Not currently compatible:
- Huawei and Xiaomi smartwatches not running Wear OS
- Samsung watches running Tizen OS (pre-2020)
Amazfit, Mi Band, Withings, and other non-standard OS smartwatches
Wear OS watches with less than 1GB RAM
Third-party fitness hardware that:
- Does not use an optical heart rate sensor (e.g. chest straps, bike monitors)
- Is not a smartwatch (e.g. smart scales, rings, or other wellness gadgets)
HR Straps / Bands:
- Devices like Polar H10 or Garmin HRM may sync to your watch, but Cardiogram does not support them directly, and results may vary
