How do I hide the persistent heart rate notification on my Wear OS watch?
When background heart rate sampling is enabled on your Wear OS device, Cardiogram displays a persistent foreground notification. This is required by Android to allow consistent background data collection.
We understand this notification may not be ideal, but it helps ensure that heart rate sampling runs reliably in the background.
🛠 How to hide the notification (without turning off heart rate sampling)
While there’s no in-app option to remove the notification, you can hide it through your system settings without interrupting background tracking.
Follow these steps:
- Open the Settings app on your Wear OS watch
- Tap Apps & notifications
- Tap App notifications or Notifications > App settings
- Scroll and select Cardiogram
- Look for a category called "Heart rate sampling" or "Heart rate measurements"
- Turn off notifications for that category
This will hide the persistent notification, but heart rate sampling will continue in the background as usual.
If you don’t see the exact wording above, it may vary slightly depending on your Wear OS version or device model.
