How do I get an ECG in Cardiogram?
Cardiogram does not record ECGs directly, but if you have a compatible Apple Watch, you can record an ECG using the Apple Health app, and Cardiogram will import it from there.
✅ What devices support ECG?
To import ECGs into Cardiogram via Apple Health, you’ll need:
- An iPhone that supports iOS 17 or later
- An Apple Watch Series 5 or newer
- The Health app configured and allowed to share ECG data with Cardiogram
⚠️ Cardiogram currently only supports importing ECGs from Apple Health.
ECGs from Fitbit, Samsung, Pixel, or Garmin are not supported at this time.
📲 How to take and import an ECG
- Use the ECG app on your Apple Watch to record an ECG
- The result will automatically be saved to your Apple Health account
- Cardiogram will import the ECG from Health if permissions are granted
To verify your settings:
- Open the Health app on your iPhone
- Tap Sharing > Apps > Cardiogram
- Make sure Electrocardiogram (ECG) is turned on
You can view the imported ECGs in your Timeline in the Cardiogram app, typically shown as a chart entry with ECG details.
❌ Using a different wearable?
Unfortunately, wearables like Fitbit or Galaxy Watch may record ECGs but do not currently allow third-party apps(like Cardiogram) to access that ECG data through their APIs.
We plan to support ECGs from more platforms as soon as manufacturers make that data available.
