When does my Garmin device take a heart measurement?

Garmin watches with wrist-based heart rate sensors typically record your heart rate continuously throughout the day. The exact frequency can vary depending on your device and activity level. Some models record every 15 seconds at rest and more frequently during exercise.

Your heart rate data is stored on your Garmin watch and then synced to the Garmin Connect app on your phone. Once it syncs, the data becomes available to third-party apps like Cardiogram.

Note: There may be a short delay before your heart rate data appears in the Cardiogram app due to this syncing process.

Workout tags not supported yet

Cardiogram doesn’t currently import workout tags (like "running" or "cycling") from Garmin. However, you can still manually tag your workouts in the Cardiogram app to keep track of when you exercised.
